Wow, we’re just into February, (the greatest month of them all) and are off to a flying start. The tell tale signs of spring are here, we’ve had a few 10/11 degree Celsius days, so the bees have been out flying while being busy rearranging their hive structures for the coming bee season. The trees are beginning to bud up and the almighty pollen rich willows are steaming ahead, ready to supply their almighty batches of much needed pollen.
The longer and dryer days of February can’t help bring a smile to your face and an internal optimism of a great year to come. We’ve been round all the apiaries in the last week giving them a post winter tidy up, so everything is looking very neat, orderly and picturesque for the time being.
The nettles have starting to come through here now. The bramble, probably the greatest of all nature’s random trip hazards, is showing signs of being ready for another successful year tripping carnage. How does such an annoying plant create such a beautiful fruit?
So here’s to another 9 months of 7 days a week and a beautiful year ahead.
